CINEMATOGRAHPIC MANTRA

Composer and director, Sebastian Wesman achieves with “Metáfora” a complete synthesis of his two faces. The rhythm dictates the narration, images and music define one another, original compositions for soprano, orchestra and string quartet blend with intervened ambiental sounds; the female voice over guides us through the movie, stumbles on the musical score and becomes a rhythmic element, a cinematographic mantra.

Structured in three parts, three steps in the depth of the main character’s dream, “Metáfora” is a sensory experience, a stream of consciousness that confuses and seduces. Wesman evokes himself again and grants cameos of elements of different forms of expression: perhaps the movie is first of all an attempt to create a meeting point between the different arts that compose his cinema, to guide an artistic personality which is restless and complex.
