FRONTIERS: FORENSIC ARCHITECTURE

Frontiers is Lago Film Fest’s new place of exploration of the moving image in which to explore the contaminations between the arts and cinema, investigating how their contamination gives new meaning to the moving image.

The first edition of Frontiers is dedicated to Forensic Architecture, a reality capable of proposing a new use of found footage, renewing the possibilities of documentary cinema today.

Forensic Architecture (FA) is a research agency, based at Goldsmiths University of London, that investigates human rights violations, including violence committed by states, police forces, the military and corporations. Forensic Architecture’s investigations utilise state-of-the-art spatial and architectural analysis techniques, open source investigations, digital modelling and immersive technologies, as well as documentary research, on-site interviews and academic collaborations. What do drones, explosions, shipwrecks and environmental crimes have to do with architecture? We look forward to seeing you at Lago to find out!
