Charlie Ainsworth is an American deaf filmmaker. He founded Angry Deaf People Productions in response to the film industry’s tendency not to value Deaf Culture, Deafhood and Deaf Talent. To date, he has made seven short films and won three awards. He currently resides in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he became one of two Deaf people in the United States to earn a master’s degree in screenwriting. Ainsworth is a great representative and advocate of Deaf Cinema as a representation of the Deaf experience of reality.
