Kaohsiung Film Festival (KFF) Inaugurated in 2001, the KFF is one of Taiwan’s three major international film festivals. It is organized and hosted annually at the Kaohsiung Film Archive, a major professional film institution based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s second largest city.
Started in 2019, the partnership between Lago FIlm Fest and Kaohsiung Film Festival is renewed this year with two intimate dramas that will add to the family-friendly offerings.
Shortly interrupted by the pandemic, the Kaohsiung Film Festival (KFF) is delighted to collaborate once again with the Lago Film Fest on a program exchange, in which the Lago Film Fest provides an exciting selection of children’s films from the UNICEF Kids Competition, while KFF offers “Kaohsiung Shorts,” a self-produced series of short films in exchange. This year, two films, March: The Southern South and “Plain Sailing” were chosen. March: The Southern South explores Taiwan’s post-Pacific War history, while Plain Sailing portrays a contemporary story with a refreshing atmosphere. Through these films, it is hoped that the unique landscapes, history, and culture of Taiwan are brought to the audience at Lago Film Fest.
