THE DECONSTRUCTED SOUND

How the sound identity of a film is defined, from script breakdown to mixing.
Mirko Perri (1978), founding partner of the InHouse studio in Rome, works as a sound
designer and audio post-production supervisor. Rolling Stone magazine calls him “an institution in the world of current Italian film sound”. Over the years, he has collaborated with leading Italian directors, including Paolo Sorrentino, Matteo Garrone, Matteo Rovere, Gabriele Mainetti, and Sydney Sibilia. He has supervised the sound design of numerous films, such as: È stato la mano di Dio, Freaks out, La grande bellezza, Dogman, Il primo re, Veloce come il vento, Smetto quando voglio. Also for sound design, he has worked on important TV series. These include The young Pope and New Pope, produced by HBO, created and directed by Paolo Sorrentino; Bang bang baby, recently produced by Amazon, created by Andrea Di Stefano. Nominated six times for David di Donatello awards, he received three for best sound with Veloce come il vento (2017), Dogman (2019), and Il primo re (2020).

Orienting original composition through type and destination of film product
Ginevra Nervi (Genoa, 1994) is an electronic music composer and producer. As author and composer, she appears in the soundtracks of several Rai, Mediaset, Netflix Original, Prime Video, SKY and Scuola Gian Maria Volonté productions (L’ispettore Coliandro, Il commissario Rex, Il Cacciatore, Il Processo, Skam Italia 4, Curon, L’ultimo piano). She participated in the 77th Venice Film Festival, with the documentary Fuoco Sacro and the film Non Odiare, in which Miles Away (with Pivio and Aldo De Scalzi) earned her a nomination for the David di Donatello as the best original song. Notable music releases include the single P!2, mastered by Heba Kadry (Bjork, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Slowdive), and the concept ep Klastós, a self-release distributed by AWAL. A new album is scheduled for release in June on La Tempesta International. She has performed at Primavera Pro Sound, MENT Festival, LUCFest, Somewhere Festival, Opera Festival, Triennale Milano, and Seeyousound Festival.

The search for musical composition in the complex relationship with images and narrative
Giorgi Koberidze (Tbilisi, 1992) is a composer of electronic and classical music, living in Tbilisi. He started his musical career at a very young age, experimenting with many different genres and techniques. He went on to study Composition and Music Technology at the Tbilisi State Conservatory, where he is currently a professor of music programming. His most recent works are related to traditional Georgian music and have already won important recognition, taking first place in the Tbilisi Conservatory’s composition awards. His experiments with Georgian music and instruments were the starting point for his publications on the Awwwara Records record label. In addition to teaching and experimentation, his activities also include composing for film and theatre. His latest soundtrack, What do we see when we look at the sky?, won second place at the International Cinephile Society Awards.
