2014. In spite of the certain success and enthusiasm the tenth edition brought with itself, the announcement left no room for doubts: Lago Film Fest 2015 is not going to happen. Ten years of efforts took their toll, the lack of funding left no other option. And then, the strange events of the closing evening. That disappearance, inexplicable and unexplained, that was best left unspoken. Until now.
Months of silence and a winter of contemplating the past slowly went by. Countermand, Lago Film Fest is not over: it’s back with a new format, with sharing and external support now more important than ever. And with the firm intention of allowing the truth to emerge, even if it means passing as visionaries.
An edition that will be a festival, but also, simultaneously, a film: “Lago Film Fest” is the title of the documentary that will be shot and edited over the course of Lago’s eleventh edition by the ZERO team, who are coming back for the second year running – drawn back also by the bizarre phenomenon caught on tape by an old and only apparently faulty camera. A doc to help shed light on the truth that was hidden last year. A doc that refuses to surrender to a mystery, to silence. A doc to perhaps discover something even deeper.
